It is sad that a struggling economy like ours is being subjected to such harsh economic policies. I take it that it is a sign that our kahunas in the high places have lost direction. if they have lost direction and have no idea what to do to make things right, their mandate to govern is seriously eroded. Since this is a major shift in policy, i would suggest that a referendum would be the right tool to seek the general public’s views on the Zero Deficit Budget issue. It is unsavory to consider overtaxing the poor as is proposed in the budget, more so when economic activities that help generate disposable cash are on the decline, when the government itself is failing to pay its suppliers, when agricultural activities are unable to prop up the economy …
